Who: American Vineyard Foundation

What they do:
The American Vineyard Foundation (AVF) was organized by the American Society of Enology and Viticulture in 1978 as a vehicle to raise funds for research in viticulture and enology.

With the diminishing research role of the government and land-grant universities, AVF's research efforts provide a unique opportunity to unify the industry through an industry-wide research effort to maintain progress.

On average, the AVF annually awards more than a million dollars directly in research grants. In addition, by working with other organizations, it leverages additional funds of approximately $2.9 million annually to fund other high priority research projects for the wine and grape industry.

What we do:
Counsel, news releases, media relations and outreach.
