Development of Regional Collaboratives delivers clout, credibility, resources and reach to largely ignored health communities. Based on a survey and one-on-one interviews conducted by Brown·Miller Communications (BMC), the agency created 11 regional health collaboratives that expanded the resources and expertise of the individual programs and magnified their clout, reach and influence with policymakers and the media by working in partnership with other like-minded nutrition and health experts and community advocates. As a result, non-traditional partnerships were forged with health, nutrition, physical activity and community experts and advocates throughout California. And, nearly 95 percent of the California Nutrition Network's contractors and their Collaborative partners (422 participants) became equipped with the expertise and support needed to accomplish their goals for the year.
